TRACEY CHEN does not use freshwater pearls, as seawater pearls excel in roundness and luster. We also select South Sea gold pearls and Tahitian black pearls. Akoya is a type of seawater pearl, known for its unique, delicate luster, especially its natural rosy hue, which captures the hearts of many. Each mother-of-pearl only produces one pearl, and it takes about 3-4 years to grow. Akoya pearls are the most lustrous among all pearls, earning the nickname "little light bulb."
South Sea pearls are rare due to their large size, limited growing environment, and long growth period. Their colors and luster are highly prized by collectors and designers. Since only a small portion of South Sea pearls form perfectly round shapes, matching pearls are extremely rare.
