Jadeite: The King of Jade

TRACEY CHEN selects only Type A jadeite—the highest grade of jade and the only variety of jadeite from the East recognized internationally as gemstone-quality.

Long revered by Asian royalty and the affluent, jadeite has been a timeless symbol of wealth and prestige. Each piece is a gift from Mother Earth, a harmonious fusion of culture and artistry. Deeply rooted in Eastern traditions, jadeite is believed to bring peace, harmony, and happiness, while warding off negativity and restoring inner balance.

Its rarity and value rival that of diamonds, making it one of the few gemstones frequently traded in major international auctions. In recent years, jadeite continues to break records on the global stage, affirming its status as both a cultural icon and a collector’s treasure.

20-Year Craftsmanship Patent in Asymmetrical Jade Cutting

Breaking away from century-old jadeite conventions, this collection is the result of three years of dedicated research and development. From sourcing raw jadeite to pioneering an innovative asymmetrical cutting technique, each piece requires the hands of more than four master artisans. Through meticulous hand-cutting and polishing, we push the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship to create a new expression of jadeite.

Jadeite—a precious treasure found only in Myanmar—has grown increasingly rare as natural reserves continue to decline, further elevating its value and exclusivity.

Each piece undergoes a meticulous six-step process that unites the beauty of nature with masterful craftsmanship: sawing, cutting, shaping, polishing, and setting—culminating in a truly one-of-a-kind creation.

Six Stages of Craftsmanship

STEP 1 / Jadeite Selection

Jadeite rough is selected based on careful evaluation of its outer shell and internal structure.

STEP 2 / Initial Cutting

The rough jadeite is cut open to observe the distribution of color bands and texture, guiding the direction of subsequent processing.

STEP 3 / Preforming

The rough is trimmed into workable pieces suitable for design, with any visible fractures or flaws carefully removed.

STEP 4 / Shaping

The preformed jade is carefully refined to achieve the precise shape and structure required by the design.

STEP 5 / Polishing

The surface is ground with fine abrasives to remove rough marks and enhance the jadeite’s delicate texture.

STEP 6 / Final Polishing

The surface is polished to release jadeite’s natural luster and its signature water-like translucency.

By combining the gentle, organic elegance of Eastern jadeite with the clean, modern lines of contemporary Western design, the Lite collection offers a bold reinterpretation of jade.

It redefines conventional perceptions of jadeite—bringing its beauty into everyday life with a fresh, contemporary spirit.
