Jewelry Care
TRACEY CHEN pieces are crafted with professional design expertise, carefully selected gemstones, and created to meet the highest standards. To preserve their original brilliance, we recommend caring for them with the same attention and delicacy you would give to any fine jewelry. By following the care guidelines below, you can help ensure your jewelry remains radiant for years to come.

Daily Cleaning After Wear
We recommend gently cleaning your jewelry at the end of each day. Use a mild detergent and a soft brush—such as a small soft-bristled toothbrush with neutral dish soap—to gently clean the surface of gemstones and precious metals. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth or a cool-air hairdryer. Store each piece separately in its designated pouch or jewelry box.
Professional Cleaning Service
We recommend bringing your jewelry to TRACEY CHEN every six months for a professional cleaning and inspection. Our team will help ensure your pieces are well-maintained and kept in optimal condition.
Build-Up from Sebum and Sweat
Jewelry worn close to the skin naturally accumulates sebum and sweat, which can seep into the fine crevices of natural gemstones and dull their luster over time. Sweat is acidic and may diminish the brightness of metal surfaces. Even durable stones like diamonds, which are highly scratch-resistant, are oleophilic (attract oils) and require regular cleaning to maintain brilliance.
Care for Precious Metals
Gold, platinum, and 18K gold are stable metals and are generally unaffected by water. However, body care products like body wash, hand soap, and lotion often contain oils or mild acids that can cling to jewelry surfaces. We recommend applying skincare products before putting on your jewelry.
Moisture and Oxidation
Always dry your jewelry thoroughly after cleaning and store it in an airtight pouch or jewelry box. In Taiwan’s humid climate, protecting your jewelry from moisture can help slow oxidation and prevent discoloration, allowing it to retain its brilliance longer.
Avoid Impact and Pressure
TRACEY CHEN pieces feature natural gemstones, which, despite their hardness, can still crack or loosen if struck or compressed. Please avoid wearing jewelry during strenuous activities, including heavy lifting, sports, gardening, or sleeping, to prevent scratches or damage.
Avoid Chemical Exposure
Household cleaners often contain bleach or chlorine, which can corrode alloys and weaken prong settings, leading to gemstone loosening. Avoid wearing jewelry while cleaning, doing dishes, or swimming to maintain structural integrity.
Corrosive Effects of Seawater and Hot Springs
Seawater and hot springs are rich in acids and minerals that may accelerate corrosion and cause gemstones to loosen or fall out. Avoid contact and immersion in such environments.
Damage from High Temperatures
Extreme temperature fluctuations can cause irreversible damage to gemstones. Do not expose your jewelry to high heat or leave it near heat sources.
Cosmetics and Perfume Exposure
Alcohol and other chemicals found in cosmetics and perfumes may harm certain gemstones. It is recommended to remove your jewelry before applying makeup or perfume to prevent direct contact.
Special Care for the Lite Collection
The Lite Collection features 18K gold-plated designs and is not intended for prolonged exposure to water. Please avoid wearing these pieces while swimming, bathing, or using hot springs. After each wear, gently wipe with a soft cloth to remove any remaining oils or residue.
Pearl Care & Storage Guidelines
Regarding the conservation and storage of Pearls

After Wearing
Gently wipe pearls with a soft cloth to remove any oils or residue accumulated during wear. Avoid using facial tissues, as some may contain fibers that can scratch the pearl’s delicate surface.
For Pearl Strands
We recommend restringing pearl necklaces or bracelets every two years. Sebum and frequent wear can weaken the thread, causing it to stretch or break. Always lay strands flat in storage to prevent creasing or tension that may damage the thread.
Avoid Prolonged Light Exposure
Pearls are organic gemstones and sensitive to light. Do not expose them to prolonged sunlight or spotlights, as this may lead to fading or deterioration.
Avoid Cotton Pads or Absorbent Materials
Do not store pearls with absorbent cotton, as it may contain trace bleaching agents that could discolor the surface over time.
Prevent Soap Residue Buildup
When cleaning, avoid letting soapy water seep into the crevices of pearl-set jewelry, as this may dull their luster.
Protect from Hard Surfaces
The nacre of pearls is soft and can be easily scratched. Avoid contact with hard objects during wear and storage.
Store in Stable Conditions
Pearls should be kept away from extreme temperatures, excessive humidity, or overly dry environments. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area to preserve their natural beauty and prevent cracking, discoloration, or premature aging.
